Dear Brethren,
I wanted to let you know once again how much I appreciated your prayers, words of encouragement and support during our missoin effort in Ghana, West Africa. The church in Ghana is growing tremendously. 20 years ago there were only about 100 congregations compared to 1600 today. The lack of good paying jobs and poor living conditions have not hindered the gospel here. There are so many who have become Christians despite hardship. It is very humbling to understand what others have given up for the Lord.
While in Ghana we spent most of our time, during the two weeks, going from house to house in several different villages. We also had a number of opportunities to teach and preach in local congregations and schools. On 3 different occasions we were also given the opportunity to teach by means of radio broadcast where we were able to reach about 2 million people.
The time and money spent in Ghana was very worthwhile. The people there are very hungry for bibles and for biblical teaching. After having seen the need and the thirst for the gospel while there, I plan on making every effort to return next year, Lord willing.

Dear Brethren,
Peace, Grace and Love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus be with you all forever in His precious name. Amen.
I believe you are all home by now through the providence of our good and great God, and that you have all met your families safely and happily.
I want to thank you for the great work you just haved finished in Takoradi - Ghana. I believe God and His host are happy for the souls you have won into his fold to expand His Kingdom.
In all we worked in about 16 villages namely Anto, Kweikuma, Mpatado, Kansaworado, Adiembra, Adietem, Nyankrom, Apowa, Beahu, Kajebil, Ankyernnyin, Egyam, Nsuaem, Essamang, Tarkwa, Kofi Gyan etc. The baptisms we had totalled 119. Over 6000 people were enrolled in WBS for correspondence courses. One congregation was newly established. 15 backslidders were restored into God's family. Several bibles were distributed to prospects.
Again, the team had four radio programs, and millions heard about Christ and His Church. The team also helped me (being the leader) in my new house. They fixed windows and masonary work was done to prevent mosquitos and rain water entering the rooms. Now my family is back together. We are happy and grateful.
Furthermore, the team visited the Village of Hope (an Orphanage) and donated money and clothings to them. We also gave them the Word of God. Individuals in the team also donated money, books and other items to needy preachers and the brethren here.
Information reaching me indicate that, 21 people were baptised last Sunday in three congregations Apowa, Kajebil and Egyam due to our house to house evangelism. Several came to worship for the first time owing to the WBS work in the villages.
In conclusion, I will say the WBS work in the last 2 weeks July 5 - 19, 2004 has been satisfactory and successful. God being great and wonderful protected our American brethren from sickness and all of us from car wrecks and other accidents. Praise God.
Several preachers are recommending this team to me due to their maturity, hard work and soundness, and are pleading with me to make the necessary arrangement to invite the same team again next year Lord willing. I also recommend a medical team to join this group for 2005 campaign.
I personally thank all the members of the team, Ruth Orr, Laurence Coblentz, Greg Coblentz, Jeff Coblentz, Greg and Sheila Hamlin, Tom Payne, Kevin Fortner, Maxie Fortner, Jane George, Roy and Mary Parham, Charles and Ginny Cochran for the great work done. I also thank all their sponsors or whoever contributed to the success of this great work.
May the Good Lord Richly Bless You All Through His Son. Amen.
I look forward to working with you again. God bless you with good health and long life.
Yours truly,
JON NAT KISSI |
